Organisations

An organisation is your top-level DevLyft account. It owns your projects, custom domains, members, API keys and billing.

What an organisation owns#

Organisation ├── Projects → builds, environments, deploys, secrets ├── Domains → claimed and verified once, usable by any project ├── Members → Admin, Manager or User ├── API keys → organisation-scoped keys └── Billing → card, usage, credit, invoices

Everything you create belongs to exactly one organisation. Domains live at organisation level, so a domain verified once can be routed to deploys in any of its projects.

Create an organisation#

Your first organisation is created during onboarding. After signing up you're taken through three steps: Organization, Project and Environment. You become the new organisation's admin.

To create another one later:

  • OrganisationTeamNew organization, or
  • the + (New organization) button beside the organisation switcher in the top bar.

Switch organisations#

If you belong to more than one organisation, pick one from the Organization switcher in the top bar. Every page, including Projects, Builds, Deployments, Domains and Billing, then shows that organisation's resources.

Rename an organisation#

Admins see an Organization settings panel on OrganisationTeam. Change the Name and save it. The switcher updates straight away.

Delete an organisation#

Admins can delete from the same Organization panel on Team. You're asked to confirm, and the dashboard then moves you to another organisation you belong to.

Members and roles#

Each member has one role in the organisation: Admin, Manager or User. A person can belong to several organisations with a different role in each. See Members and permissions.
